Dr Graeme Sutherland retiring

Dr Graeme Sutherland will be retiring from General Practice at the end of September 2020 after 36 years with West Practice, Springfield Medical Centre (formerly Abbey Health Centre).

Having trained in Glasgow, Graeme joined the Partnership of Drs Speirs, Ledson & Inglis at Abbey Health Centre in 1984.

During his career in Arbroath Graeme has always taken an active role in General Practice developments within the practice and beyond.  He was a member of the Arbroath & Friockheim LHCC for many years and played a key part in organising the move from practice-based out of hours cover to an Arbroath rota and later Angus wide.

Graeme also had a significant role in the design, planning and move from Abbey Health Centre to Springfield Medical Centre, a building which even after 16 years is and will remain a good place to work.

Graeme has been co-chair of Tayside Diabetes MCN for 16 years and Honorary Medical Advisor for the Arbroath Lifeboat for 31 years.

In his retirement Graeme is looking forward to continuing his enjoyment of golf, wood turning and music.

From October 2020 Dr Rebecca Wheater will be reducing her sessional commitment and Dr Raquel Romero-Perez will be joining the practice.
