Angus Minor Injury and Illness Units Information

Angus Minor Injury and Illness Units (MIIU) in Arbroath and Forfar do not provide Accident and Emergency care. 

For suspected stroke or heart attack or serious illness of injury please attend your nearest Accident and Emergency Department.

Always call NHS 24 on 111 before you attend an Angus MIIU. This will ensure that your call is clinically triaged and you are appointed to the correct place to be reviewed. NHS 24 111 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

If you feel unwell please contact your GP practice between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday. When your GP is closed please call NHS 24 on 111.

If you have an injury that is not serious, for example a sprain, strain, minor burn, scald, chemical splash, insect and animal bite, minor eye injury, please call NHS 24 on 111. They will tell you the correct place to go to be reviewed. 

Your local pharmacist can provide a whole range of services including free advice, support and guidance on a range of health problems. Community pharmacies are open at convenient times on Saturdays and Sundays in many locations.
